BASE BOAT SPECIFICATIONS

1. GENERAL
1.0 Hull – Hull to be laminated using orthopthalic polyester resin and a combination of chopped strand matt, Chopper gun Layup and E Glass woven roving. Anti Osmosis Vinylester is used on primary hull laminates.

1.1 Engine Beds – Engine beds to be laminated over Oregon with 12% moisture content. All intermediate panel stiffening and bilge stringers to be polyurethane foam formers laminated over with chopped strand matt.

1.2 Hull Deck – Hull deck to be bonded together with epoxy putty and fastened with 12g stainless steel screws on 100mm centres. All bonding surfaces to be well sanded and roughed up prior to applying glue.

1.3 Structural Bulkheads – Main structural bulkheads to be 18mm marine bonded plywood laminated to hull with bi-axial glass cloth.

1.4 Hull Exterior – The hull exterior to be Isopthalic Gelcoat and the underside of hull to be sanded and sealed with two coats of Interprotect Epoxy Hibuild prior to the application of anti fouling.

 

2.        DECK
 All deck components to be laminated in the same procedure as hull and in female moulds.


3.      JOINERY & FINISH DETAILS
           3.0  Exterior Joinery
a) Iroko navigation light boards
b) Coaming capping to be fibreglass/gelcoat finish unless Plasteak capping required. See options
c) Decks to be non skid marine finish unless Plasteak decks required. See options
d) Cabin sides to be Isopthalic gelcoat
e) Eyebrow around coach roof to be ½” brass.
f)  All windows aluminium ex Seamac (side window blue tint standard). Doors Iroko ex Omalley.
g) Deck ladder to be manufactured of solid Iroko as per plan

 


3.1  Interior Joinery Work & Finishing
a) General – All draw faces; locker and cabinet doors to be solid trimmed Maple with Maple Veneer plywood faces and panels. All drawer pulls to be Brass Lamp Fittings. Hardware to be brass traditional. Alternative timber species can be selected dependant upon availability:

 Lighting: Two spotlights with one traditional brass cabinet light mounted on coach roof
 Headliner and Bulkheads: To be front runner fabric. (Walkabout Bondi 707)
 Hull liner: To be Iroko 50mm x 6mm strips with air space
 Joinery faces: and bulkheads to be Maple Veneered
 Flooring: Carpet. Colour to owners choice
 Trim: Maple
 Bunk Fabric: Owners choice

5.     HEAD
 Lighting: Traditional brass overhead dome light
 Headliner: White satin vinyl panel
 Wall liners: Elverplast Art Design 12101 Wall Vinyl (White)

6.    GALLEY

7.    MAIN SALOON
 Lighting: Traditional brass dome lights on ceiling. See options
 Headliner: White gelcoat finish with Iroko false beams on 300 centres
 Panelling: To be Maple Veneer on marine ply

 Dining Table: Dining Table to be Iroko  mounted on Aluminium retractable pedestal to convert into double bed


8.    LOWER STATEROOM
 Lighting: Overhead brass traditional dome light
 Wall/Headliner: To be front runner fabric (Walkabout Bondi 707)
 Bunk Rails: Maple
 Flooring: Gelcoat up to lower bunk rail. Iroko slats on floor.

9.        PROPULSION SYSTEM
9.0  Machinery – Standard vessels will be supplied with Perkins M92 diesel engine rated at 90 horsepower at 2400 rpm. Gearbox is PRM 500D 2.9:1 reduction. Flexible Mounting and Engine Control Panel. 29” dia prop.

9.1 Controls – AAA or Morse top mount single lever dual action engine controls.

9.2  Shaft Gear & Rudder – Shafting is 2 inch 316 SS or equal marine shafting alloy. Propellers are 4 blade bronze and stern tube/shaft log assembly GRP with Vesconite Bearing. Rudder stock is 2.25” 316SS or equal with 12mm Plate Rudder (steel).

9.3 Exhaust System – A wet exhaust system is run through Lawrence exhaust hose and Vetus Muffler exiting through transom.

9.4 Engine Insulation: 25mm Barium/Foam insulation on engine room bulkheads roof and tank faces.

10.          FUEL SYSTEM
a) Tanks to be Marine Aluminium
b) Two tanks to be supplied, one on each side of the engine with a 450 litre   capacity in each tank
c) Inspection ports to be provided over deepest part of tanks. WEMA fuel sender units fitted to each tank
d) Tank testing – All tanks to be tested to 3 p.s.i. for no less than 24 hours.
e) Deck fills to be 2 inch bronze
f) Vent line to be a minimum 3/4 inch Neoprene tubing through cabin sides.
g) Fuel pipe to be Synflex Neoprene hose with push lock fittings
h) Fuel filter to be Racor, 2 way supply and return valves allow selection of Port or Starboard tank


11.          FRESH WATER SYSTEM
a) Tanks to be two 250 litre Hercules Polyethylene
b) WEMA sender units
c) Fill and vent system as per fuel system
d) All water piping to be ½” non-toxic
e) A 12 volt Jabsco pressure system pump with expansion tank and filter installed in system
f) Water heater – 1 x 70 litre heat exchange water cylinder installed in system


12.          BILGE SYSTEM
a) 1  Whale Gusher 25 gallons per minute manual pump to be installed in accessible pumping position
b) 1  Rulemate 2000 gallons per hour 12volt pump to be installed at low point in bilge with float switch for automatic operation. All bilge compartments flow to low point in vessel. Bilge alarm at dash.


13.          ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION 
13.0  General – All wiring to be carried out in accordance with sound marine                    practice

13.1  Electrical Panel – Circuit breakers to be easy trip type Heineman or     equal. All battery switches to be top quality easily serviced for cleaning. Circuits to be single pole Blue Sea panel mounted in helm console. Battery capacity 1 x 90amp hour engine start, 2 x 120 amp hour ship service. Emergency link to be provided between battery banks.

13.2 Steering System – Steering system to be Seastar II hydraulic.

14.  WINDOWS/DOORS
 Seamac aluminium windows – 8mm front and 6mm side armour plate glass
Omalley Iroko Doors w 6mm armour plate glass.


15.                DECK HARDWARE
a) All railings to be 1 inch stainless steel.
b) Bow Roller to be custom stainless
c) All chocks, cleats and fair leads to be bronze
d) 4 x 6 inch opening bronze ports in forward cabin sides

 

16.             REFRIGERATION
Refrigeration to be Isotherm Cruise 130  12v 130litre refrigerator


17.             NAVIGATION & SAFETY EQUIPMENT
 Hella navigation lights to be supplied as per International Regulations   for Safety Equipment.


18.               FINISH

18.0 Exterior – Bottom to be epoxy Interprotect seal and then two coats of Micron Antifouling to be applied.

18.1 Interior – All interior woodwork to be sealed and have three coats of Briwax Danish oil

18.2 Deck Finish – Light grey epoxy/glass bead non skid


19.           UPHOLSTERY
 All upholstery to be of premium quality. Bunks to be 4 inch medium   density. Settee cushions to be 4 inch medium density. Upholstery fabric to be selected by Owner. Price is based on fabric not exceeding $60 per metre.


20.             GROUND TACKLE
 1 x 35lb Delta Anchor and 75 metres of 8mm chain
